You are allowed to miss three (3) classes. You are expected to acquire notes for the missed class from a classmate. If you email me requesting a summary of what we discussed in the class you missed, you will recieved a cold, curt response suggesting you ought not to email me for such a request.
You will lose 10 pts. on the 3rd absence, and with your 4th absence, you will fail the class.
You have 10mins to arrive in class before I mark you as "tardy." A tardy is half of an absence.
I don't make a disctintion between "excused" and "unexcused" abscences, unless defined by the university. However, if a situation arises for you that means that missing more than 2 classes is necessary, come and talk to me.

For our critque days, the attendance policy has a caveat. You will not miss the presentation of your project. If cannot be bodily, physically in-class, then you must make other arrangements.
You will choose a 'delegate': that person will present your projects and take notes on the critique for you.

Late projects.
Your projects are due on the day and time they are due. If an extreme situation arises, you have 24 hours to get me the assignment, albeit with a 10pt penalty. After 24 hours, you cannot turn in the assigment.

Technology in class.
I fully expect that many of you will be using some sort of digital device to take notes in class. I expect you are taking notes, of course, and not fiddling about on Facebook, or any other online 'Book. Outside of note taking, you are not allowed to use cellphones in class. If I catch you texting during class, unless you have prior consideration, likely you will recieve a cold, curt, and public verbal castigation.
